UK Food Hygiene Scraper pulls official food hygiene ratings for food businesses across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland as clean, structured data. Search by business name, town or postcode, filter by business type or exact rating, and get back one row per establishment — its rating, full address, hygiene/structural/management scores, local authority and map coordinates. Export to JSON, CSV, Excel or XML. Built for food and hospitality research, compliance checks, lead generation and automation workflows.
What does this UK Food Hygiene Scraper do?
Give it a business name, a location, or both, and it returns every matching establishment as structured data:
- Search by name — look up a chain or a single venue by business name (partial matches supported).
- Filter by location — narrow results to a town, street or full/partial postcode.
- Filter by business type — restrict to restaurants, takeaways, pubs, retailers, mobile caterers and more.
- Filter by rating — return only 5-star venues, 0-star venues, or any specific rating.
- Bulk export — page through thousands of matching businesses in a single run, capped by Max items.

FAQ
Which businesses are covered? Food businesses registered with UK local authorities under the national food hygiene rating scheme — restaurants, cafes, takeaways, pubs, hotels, schools, supermarkets, mobile caterers, distributors and more, across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
What do the ratings mean?
Most businesses carry a rating from 5 (very good) down to 0 (urgent improvement needed). Some show AwaitingInspection or Exempt, and Scottish businesses use a Pass / Improvement Required scheme. Each record also includes the underlying hygiene, structural and management sub-scores.
How do I filter to a specific area? Put a town, street or postcode in the Address or postcode field. You can combine it with a business name and a rating filter in the same run.
What export formats are supported? JSON, CSV, Excel and XML, plus programmatic access through the Apify API.
How does billing work? You pay per establishment scraped, so cost scales with the number of records you actually collect. See the Pricing tab for current rates.
Can I use this with n8n? Yes. Run the UK Food Hygiene Scraper from n8n with the Apify node — trigger a run, pass your search terms, and read the dataset items straight into your workflow. It also works with Make, Zapier and the Apify API.
Can I connect this to other tools? The UK Food Hygiene Scraper connects with almost any cloud service or web app thanks to integrations on the Apify platform. It works with Make, Zapier, Slack, Airbyte, GitHub, Google Drive and many more, plus the Apify API, JavaScript/Python clients and MCP. Or use webhooks to trigger an action whenever a run finishes.
Notes
