FAQ
Straight answers.
Where do the scrapers run?
On the Apify cloud platform. You run them from your browser, from code over the API, on a schedule, or from Make, Zapier, n8n and similar tools. Nothing to install or host.
How does pricing work?
Pay per result. Each scraper lists a small price per item it returns, with lower rates on paid Apify plans. Set a maximum cost per run and the run stops cleanly at that limit — you only receive what you paid for.
What happens when a website changes?
Every public scraper is test-run on a rotating schedule and rebuilt regularly. When a source changes, the scraper is fixed — usually within a day.
What formats can I get?
JSON, CSV, Excel, XML, HTML tables or RSS — or stream results to webhooks, Google Sheets and databases through integrations.
Can you build a scraper for a site you don't cover?
Yes. Send the site and the fields you need through the custom build form. You get it first, and it joins the public library.
Which sources won't you build?
Anything that needs a login, personal-profile data, or content you'd need a licence to copy. We stick to publicly available data.
Is web scraping legal?
Collecting publicly available data is generally lawful, but you are responsible for how you use it — respect each site's terms, copyright and privacy law.
